The UNESCO
Associated Schools Project Network (Asp Net) is a global network of more than
9000 educational institutions, ranging from pre-schools, primary, secondary and
vocational schools to teacher’s training institutions across 180 countries (as
for June 2011)

Historical Background
ASP net in Tanzania
came into existence in 1993, starting with only three (3) schools. To date,
there are about 163 schools and 7 teachers’ colleges participating in UNESCO
ASP-net and UNESCO Clubs, covering 12 regions in Tanzania Mainland. There are 4
and 2 schools from Zanzibar and Pemba respectively.
Associated Schools
Project activities in Tanzania are implemented in different ways under guidance
of UNESCO National Commission.
ASP net members are voluntary involved in the network’s activities in collaboration with National commission for UNESCO in the country. Members have the chance to participate in different international workshops and contribute articles on UN related themes which cover human rights, development, environmental education and, science and technology.

Schools or Colleges wish to join ASP-net and UNESCO Clubs shall fill application form and submit direct to info@natcom.go.tz or at the NATCOM offices. To apply click here
