Barabara ya Mwinyi secondary
school is a new UNESCO Associated school located at Temeke district in Dar es
Salaam Tanzania. This school become a member of UNESCO ASPnet in 2011 with the officially
launching of ASPnet activities. This school was involved in UNESCO
Participation Programme which is the UNESCO Programme of funding different
projects basing on UNESCO’s areas of competence. During the launching of this
school project the Executive secretary of National commission for UNESCO in
Tanzania Prof. Elizabeth Kiondo insisted the new UNESCO Associated school to choose one among the four fields of ASPnet activities which are
based on; International understanding, Human rights, Education for sustainable
development and Intercultural exchange. She also handed over different equipments
for learning; such as Laboratory items, computers and books. The Headmistress
of Barabara ya Mwinyi thanked UNESCO for their support to her school.
